Coho, Spings,Lings and all the other beautiful bottom things. Great few days at the lodge, we started out with a wicked storm which laid blankets of rain on us, but with that we welcomed some fresh fish including droves of Coho. The past two days have been flat and the fishing conditions are perfect. Mornings slay salmon, afternoons slay the bottom fish…can’t get any better then that. Kettle Inlet has been on fire for the past week with long bites throughout the morning of teenage to mid twenty Springs. Honey Hole has had some great fishing for size, a few Tyee were caught there with the biggest being a 34.5 pound release. Number 5 first thing is been super active for both Coho and what seems to be a larger on average size of Chinook, most are brought back in the 20’s. Coho are in unlimited supply ranging from 8-14 pounds. These are hungry fish and biting on a wide array of gear from trolled herring to anchovy/flasher to a multitude variety of spoons. The main formula is just to have your lines in the water and they will come. Halibut fishing continues to be great out at Russell Banks, offshore spots such as Isnor Rock, Aranzazu and Cliffe remain your best bet for ling and hali combination catches.
