Getting Here

Arriving...

All of our trips depart from Vancouver, BC.   The chartered Hawk Air Dash-8 aircraft departs from South Terminal at Vancouver International Airport early on the morning of your stated departure date, around 8 a.m.  Allow 45 minutes prior to departure for check in. Look for our representative at the Hawk Air check-in counter, they will answer your questions and take care of your luggage.

If you are flying into Vancouver for the trip, we recommend you stay the night prior in accommodation close to the airport.  We have worked closely with the Delta Vancouver Airport Hotel for the past 10 years and recommend them to our guests.  This hotel caters to fishermen throughout the summer months with shuttle service to the South and Main Terminals and ample storage for frozen fish.  In order to meet the 25 pound luggage limit into the lodge, you are welcome to leave excess luggage in the secure storage area at the Delta.

From Vancouver,  we will fly you to Sandspit, Queen Charlotte Islands.  We'll transfer you to a nearby dock where you will board our chartered Twin Otter float plane flown by the experienced pilots of Kenn Borek Air.

The Twin Otter is a very spacious aircraft known for it's safe flying history.  The flight across Hecate Strait takes about 40 minutes and the scenery is breathtaking.  You will touch down in Borrowman Bay, the beautiful location of North King Lodge.  From that point, a bit of lunch, a bit of paperwork, and you're into your boats and fishing in no time.

...And Departing

You depart North King Lodge midday, which allows you to fish the morning bite.   The departure time gives you one last chance to catch that monster fish you had been holding out for, or a companion to the trophy you have already caught.

The route back is the reverse of getting here.   You should arrive back in Vancouver by 5 p.m.   Even so, we strongly recommend no flight bookings prior to 7:30 p.m. on your departure date.  Weather can occasionally affect our flights.

North King Lodge and our flying partners are not responsible for extra expenses incurrred due to flight delays caused by weather or missed connecting flights.
